Notes:
The U.S. goal came after defender Brandi Chastain gathered a Canadian clearance, eluded a Canadian tackle and then took an elbow to the head from Silvana Burtini earning the Canadian a yellow card and the U.S. a free kick from 28 yards out. Kristine Lilly ran over the dead ball before Mia Hamm's kick glanced off of Charmaine Hooper's head, bounced off of Cindy Parlow's chest and landed at Tifeny Milbrett's feet. Milbrett's shot couldn't get past a thicket of players consisting of two Canadians and U.S. teammate Aleisha Cramer, but Milbrett pounced on the rebound of her own shot kicking it into the upper right corner for the 1-0 lead.

Parlow earned her 100th cap in this match and at the age of 23 became the youngest U.S. player in program history to join the century club.

The U.S. victory snapped a four-game winless streak against Canada.
