Notes:
The win was the 100th of USA head coach Tony DiCicco's tenure (100-8-8).

The USA's memorable second goal of the match came in the 34th minute when Brazilian goalkeeper Andreia was whistled for catching a backpass from one of her defenders setting up a USA indirect kick 12 yards from the goal. Kristine Lilly swiped the ball from Andreia's arms, quickly placed it on the ground and sent a pass to Shannon MacMillan. MacMillan kicked the ball into the open net as the off-guard Brazilians watched.
