National Team Highlights
Inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2000.
Came off the bench to play in four games at the 1996 Olympics.
Started five of the USA's six games at the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Scored five goals at the 1994 CONCACAF Women's Championship to help the U.S. qualify for the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Tallied a U.S. single season record 21 assists in 1991.
Won the Golden Ball (MVP Award) at the inaugural 1991 FIFA Women's World Championship. Scored six goals and five assists in helping the U.S. win the inaugural world title. Notched a pair of goals in the opener against Sweden, a goal and two assists against Brazil, a pair of assists against Japan, and a hat trick plus an assist against Germany in the semifinals. Played on a forward line, also consisting of Michelle Akers and April Heinrichs, dubbed "the triple-edged sword."
Recorded five goals at the 1991 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament for the 1991 FIFA Women's World Championship.
Named U.S. Soccer's Female Athlete of the Year in 1987 and 1992.

Collegiate Highlights
Played for the University of California-Santa Barbara from 1983-1986.
Scored 102 goals and 62 assists during her collegiate career. Both are still UCSB career records.
A four-time All-American, she was voted UCSB's Woman Athlete of the Decade in 1987.
Inducted into the UCSB athletic hall of fame, she had her jersey retired in October 1991.
Last We Heard
In 1992, married Jim Gabarra, a former player on the U.S. Men's National Team and the former head coach of the WUSA's Washington Freedom. The couple has three children, Tyler, Abigail and Talia.
She has been the head coach at the Naval Academy since the program's inception in 1993. She guided Navy to the NCAA tournament in 2003 and 2006 and won Patriot League Coach of the Year honors in 1996 and 2006.
